The young defender Diego Almeida made his absolute debut in the Ecuador National Team in the friendly against El Salvador and expressed his joy at the international presentation.

At just 17 years of age, Almeida made his debut in the national team before making it in the first team of his club, since he still plays in youth A. He entered the 31st minute of the second half in place of Gustavo Vallecilla.
