Like the rest of the teams that will participate in the World Cup, and in an exercise similar to that of the Mexicans who play in Europe, we present the balance of the performances of the main candidates from the United States to the World Cup in Qatar over the weekend in the main leagues of the Old Continent.

Leeds have not lost in their opening three Premier League games, and in their weekend game they upset Chelsea 3-0. Aaronson scored the first goal, in the 33rd minute, and was substituted in the 83rd. He has started all three games for Jesse Marsch’s team.

Tyler Adams | Leeds United
Age: 23
Position: Midfielder

Adams, the fourth most expensive American in soccer history, has played all three games of the Premier season, and in his debut he was one of 12 Premier League midfielders to play 90 minutes, registering more than 50 touches. and 25 completions. He also stood out in the wins against Wolverhampton and Chelsea.

Reggie Cannon | Boavista
Age: 24
Position: Right Back

Cannon could be one of the beneficiaries of the three additional spots on the US 26-man roster, though not a likely starter, he could add depth to the team. He has played every minute for Portuguese top-flight side Boavista in all three matches this season, and will be looking to bounce back from a 2021-22 campaign in which he missed three months through injury.

The stage is almost set for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, which starts on November 21 until the final on December 18.

Cameron Carter Vickers | Celtic F.C.
Age: 24
Position: Central defender

Celtic signed Carter-Vickers permanently this summer, a strong passer and passing presence, who will have a good chance of going to Qatar. He has started all four games of the 2022-23 season in the Scottish Premier.

Luke of the Tower | Celtic vigo
Age: 24
Position: Midfielder

De la Torre is looking to earn a place at Celta de Vigo, on which his presence in Qatar depends. It won’t be easy for him with the demanding Coudet, who made his debut on matchday two, allowing him to play the last four minutes of the win against Real Madrid.

Sergio Dest | Barcelona
Age: 21
Position: Right Back

Dest’s future at the Camp Nou is uncertain, as Xavi told him that he doesn’t have him and his best bet to avoid being left on the bench for the whole season is to look for a new destination. In the first game he was a substitute, but in the weekend game against Real Sociedad he was not called up.

Weston McKennie | Juventus
Age: 23
Position: Midfielder

If the United States is going to succeed in Qatar, much of it depends on the fine performance of the Juventus midfielder, who dealt with injuries last season. He started Juventus’ 2022-23 Serie A opener, playing 76 minutes in a win over Sassuolo, and also started in the 0-0 draw against Sampdoria, but came off at 62.

Yunus Musah | Valencia
Age: 19
Position: Midfielder

One of the most promising and versatile players in the group, he appears to be in favor with new coach Gennaro Gattuso at Valencia. He played full the first game of the season (a 1-0 victory over newly promoted Girona) and played 62 on Sunday, in the defeat against Athletic Club.

Erik Palmer-Brown | Troyes
Age: 25
Position: Central defender

In his second season with the Ligue 1 side, he looks solid defensively, having played all three games of the 2022-23 season, which sadly for his club all ended in defeat.

Jordan Pefok | Union Berlin
Age: 26
Position: Forward

The former France youth international has a good chance of showing that his arrival in the Bundesliga is justified, after shining in the Swiss Super League. He started the first three matches this season and has already scored twice, most recently on Saturday in a 2-1 win over Leipzig.

Ricardo Pepi | FC Augsburg
Age: 19
Position: Forward

Arriving in Germany as the great prospect the United States snatched from Mexico, Pepi was scoreless and assistless in 11 appearances for Augsburg last season. He too hasn’t scored for the USMNT since his first two games and his chances of traveling to Qatar continue to drop. He has only played 37 minutes as a substitute in the three current Bundesliga games.

Christian Pulisic | Chelsea
Age: 23
Position: Attacking Midfielder

His time at Chelsea remains shaky and he is far from the figure he promised with some flashes in Tuchel’s team. But he is the star of the United States and although he only played 26 minutes in the 3-0 loss to Leeds, his team expects him to take off for Qatar.

Giovanni Reyna | Borussia Dortmund
Age: 19
Position: Attacking Midfielder

Due to an injury sustained in the United States’ first qualifying game, Reyna played just 10 Bundesliga games for Borussia Dortmund, but is finally back after three rounds, reappearing playing 28 minutes in a 2-3 loss to Weder Bremen.

Chris Richards | Crystal Palace
Age: 22
Position: Central defender

Richards is a reliable option in Berhalter’s lineup, and with Miles Robinson out with an Achilles tendon injury, he’s shaping up to be one of the starting center backs. But he has yet to fully secure that position, and in his Premier League debut he only played 11 minutes on matchday two against Liverpool and one minute against Aston Villa at the weekend.

Antonee Robinson | Fulham

Joe Scalley | Borussia Monchengladbach
Age: 19
Position: Right Back

Of all the Americans in the top five European leagues, none played more minutes last season than Scally. Although he only played 45 minutes in the summer friendly against Morocco, if he maintains regularity at his club he can make the final US roster for Qatar.

Zack Steffen | Middlesbrough
Age: 27
Position: Goalkeeper

His poor run at Manchester City sent him on loan at Middlesbrough, and although he remains one of Berhalter’s favourites, the competition for the starting job with the United States is still open. He has conceded nine goals in five Championship games this season, which they are yet to win.

Malik Tillmann | rangers
Age: 20
Position: Attacking Midfielder

Tillman became eligible for the United States in May after representing Germany in his youth career, and after playing for Bayern’s youth team last month he joined Rangers on loan, where he is already starting to settle. He scored his first goal for the Glasgow club on Matchday 3 and scored a goal to advance to the next qualifying round of the Champions League, in which they go 2-2 against PSV. This day he was a substitute in the Scottish Premier.

Matt Turner | Arsenal
Age: 28
Position: Goalkeeper

Being one of the best goalkeepers in MLS earned him a transfer to Arsenal this summer, but his consolidation will take longer than expected, as he did not receive a chance in the first three games of the Premier League season, which are counted by victories.

Timothy Weah | Lille
Age: 22
Position: Forward

Weah has struggled to stay fit, missing Lille’s first three games of the 2022-23 season with a foot injury, but has scored just six times since arriving at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in 2019. Qatar, but it is a long shot for the starting eleven.
