The deepest pool in the world: Y-40 Deep Joy

If when you were little you didn’t pay much attention to your parents and you enjoyed swimming in the deepest area of the pool and diving until you hit the bottom… you are going to love this pool. The Y-40 Deep Joy pool is the deepest pool in the world with a height similar to a 14-story building.

Why so much depth? We tell you in this article

The deepest pool in the world

Y-40 Deep Joy is a swimming pool located in a hotel in Montegrotto Terme in Northern Italy with a capacity of more than 4,300 cubic meters of water. It is currently the deepest pool in the world at 40 meters deep, surpassing the previous record held by the Nemo 33 pool in Belgium by more than 5 and a half meters.

If you are still wondering what the use of such a deep pool is, the answer is very easy: It is a pool made for lovers of scuba diving and freediving. The pool has a temperature of between 32 and 34 degrees so diving in it without wearing a suit is a very pleasant experience.

Of course, diving in the sea is not comparable to diving in a pool, but the advantage of the pool is that since it is a controlled place, it allows for learning and training of different underwater disciplines with almost no risks.

In addition to the central «tube» that descends to the 40 meters deep, the pool has small rooms that simulate caves with ledges and narrow walls and are used to improve technical diving skills. There is also an interior glass tunnel so that visitors who do not want to get wet, or who do not like depths, can see the inside of the pool without any problem.

What did you think of this pool? Would you like to take a bath in it? If you like the deep sea and diving, don’t miss the story of the dolphin who asked a diver for help.
