The Tuna Bruno Fornaroli said if he still dreams of ending his sports career at the National Football Club and commented on why he will not be able to defend the Australian National Team in the playoff against Peru next Monday.

At 34 years old and with a contract for one more season with the Perth Glory of the Australian league, Fornaroli referred in dialogue with 100% Sports (Radio Sport) to whether he still has the idea of returning to Nacional to retire at the club that formed him: “It happens to me that every passing period friends call me and ask me, and That idea always turns on me, I’m not going to deny it, I always have the illusion of returning. But there are things that put me between a rock and a hard place”.

I have the illusion that my son sees me playing with the National shirt, he is a fanatic and I even want to take him to Central Park, which he has not yet met. On the one hand, it is what I would like, but then there is the family part, which often asks why, ”said the player born in Salto on September 7, 1987 and who officially debuted with the Bag in the 2006 Liguilla .

And he affirmed: “Let it be what God wants and if the call from Nacional arrives, it will be evaluated, obviously I will receive it as something positive.”

Then he spoke about his future and pointed out the possibility of being a technical director: “I don’t feel like I have that passion to be a coach and I also want to give my family the space.especially my lady. Let her do what she wants and I accompany her. Being a coach would mean continuing that we go where I go, and I think I have to be grateful to my wife for all this time she has accompanied me, and tell her ‘it’s your time, do what you want and now we are here to accompany you to you’, that’s what I have in my head”.

THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL TEAM AND THE PLAY-OFF AGAINST PERU

Fornaroli, who in March played his first two games defending the Australian National Team for the Asian Qualifiers, commented on why he will not be in Monday’s playoff against Peru in Qatar.

“I am quite sad, because I just had the opportunity to be in the National Team and have this type of games, and due to an injury I could not be in order. I don’t know if he was going to be called up but he would have at least had a chance,” he said.

He then explained: “After the game with Arabia I had a ankle discomfort, we did some studies and it came out that it should stop a bit; It was a complicated decision, because I had done everything possible to end up playing, to have the possibility of going to the National Team and at one point I had to decide to stop because I had to see what was going to happen later and I couldn’t take so many risks » .

“The ankle is quite worn out by an old injuryand with the string of games that took place after the coronavirus it began to bother me more than usual, ”said Tuna.

Fornaroli stated that he will seek to recover ‘with the illusion of, if he passes the playoffs, try to get in later to be able to be present at the World Cup’.

“The only problem is that the Australian league could start at the end of September, so it is difficult to show that you are ready to play, but also from the coaching staff of the national team they know about the situation and I suppose that they will do training microcycles in Australia to see how there are the players of the local league”, he assured.

And he said about what could happen this Monday in the playoff to be played in Rayán: “It is different from other playoffs, because it will be a single match and on a neutral field, without so many hours of travel. The Australian National Team is fine, but everyone also knows what Peru has done and that they are playing at a good level.”.
