Recycle Project –

This work’s main objective is to raise awareness among students, teachers and civil society in general, that recycling becomes necessary every day in all sectors of our lives, that is, at home, at work, at school, and can be practiced routinely just by changing some habits of our day-to-day life. As a consequence of this change in habit, we can make life more pleasant in the environments where we spend most of the day, and for those more enterprising, they can earn a little extra money by having a little more work. This is where our project comes into practice.

PROJECT

Our project was designed to be initially worked on by students and teachers, but nothing prevents other sectors of society from organizing themselves in the same way. First step, the teacher organizes teams in the classroom, with pre-determined objectives to acquire information such as:

1. Where in the region are there places where the purchase and sale of recyclable materials is practiced?

2. Conduct a survey on what type of recyclable material they buy, and what types of prices are charged in that location?

3. Observe what type of recyclable material our school produces, and what price is charged when purchasing this material in this previously observed location?

4. Locate a specific place within the institution to store this material;

5. Make everyone aware that it is necessary to place each collected object in the appropriate containers, i.e. organic, plastic and glass in the predetermined locations.

With this information in hand, we begin to develop our presentation strategy to the target audience. To make the presentation through the Data show, teams need to take photos of the location, do an interview with the owner of the previously visited business, directing the information to the types of recycled materials and the prices charged, the materials sold that the industry sector reuses these products? Prepare presentations with photos and information. It is known that some people have problems with some types of mathematical calculations, even targeting a specific type of problem that can happen in this type of calculation.

commerce, we prepared a small problem and its solution, using one of the mathematical subjects known as the rule of three.

THE PROBLEM

The following problem was based on fictitious data, which must be disclosed in advance, as the objective was only didactic.

One day Paulo went shopping and his mother had given him R$5.00 separately to buy 1 kilogram of chicken, and Paulo did so, but when he arrived at the farm he asked for 1 kilogram of chicken and the seller didn’t have that heavy quantity. at the moment and went to divide the chicken he had at the time, confident in his cutting ability he cut the chicken and when he placed it on the scale it measured 1.35kg or 1 kilo and 350 grams. How much will Paulo have to pay extra for the 350 grams?

Note: A kilo of chicken costs R$5.00

RESPONSE

The big problem to calculate for some people is not the price per kilo because that is already the problem, the problem is to calculate at the time how much they will pay for the 350 grams, for this we will use a formula originating from the rule of three, see:

Amount payable = Vp

Value in grams = Vg

Product price = Pp

Vp =Vg*Pp

Doing the appropriate calculations we obtain:

Vp =5350/1000 =1750/1000 = 1.75 In other words, you will have to pay an extra R$ 1.75

Of course, these calculations using a calculator became much easier, after all this procedure we also tried to show, through previously prepared calculations, how profitable it could be to sell recyclable products produced by our own sectors, simply by organizing and making a basic change in the our habits. Obviously, it is human nature to look for the simplest ways to do your tasks, so we can use a more practical and faster way to do these calculations using a calculator, for example, note:

Value of one kilogram of chicken = R$5.00

Value indicated by the scale = 1,350 kg

If we multiply these values, see what happens:

5 x 1,350 = R$6.75, meaning this will be the amount you will receive for everything.

We can even expose another specific problem, which is related to the subject discussed, recycling.

This problem is fictitious in nature, but it truly expresses a possible problem that could happen in reality.

PROBLEM II

One day Josué, an unemployed boy, but whose means of survival was to gather cardboard he found on the streets to sell at a local recyclable materials store, was faced with a doubt, every time he went to negotiate his cardboard and the weight It wasn’t exact, that is, it was 20.35kg or 45.43kg, leaving me with a flea behind my ear wanting to know how much 430g and 350g were really worth. As he passed through a street thoughtfully, he was seen by a colleague of his who was very good at doing calculations in his head and using a calculating machine. His colleague soon asked:

– Hey Josué, what is happening that you are so thoughtful?

And Joshua explained his doubt to him. Joshua’s colleague gave him the following explanation:

– Joshua, do you have a calculator? Yes, he replied.

-Then do the following: Multiply the value in grams that you are in doubt by the price charged in kilograms of the product in question, then divide everything by a thousand. The result obtained will be exactly how much the grams are worth in reais.

Watch:

Knowing that the kilo of this type of paper you sell is purchased for R$0.70, then R$45.43kg we will have:

The value of 430g will be: 430*0.70/1000 = 0.301, so it will be approximately R$0.30

Therefore, he will receive R$31.5 + R$0.30 = R$31.80

We all know that in the current moment we are going through, any and all actions that we can take towards environmental re-education are extremely important, since the consumerist society produces a lot of plastic materials, among other waste that causes us many problems, especially in the centers. urban. Problems such as floods, floods resulting from clogged drains, destroyed galleries due to waste thrown by local residents, in some cases simply because the week’s garbage collection was delayed or even due to the fault of local authorities who do not carry out efficient inspection, and All of this can be greatly alleviated and in some situations even resolved, all it takes is a change of habit and awareness on the part of our society. Here is our proposal to organize yourself at home, at work, and in institutions, aiming to increase recycling awareness by just changing habits and earning a little money as a momentary reward, since the biggest reward will be a clean, healthy environment, which is increasingly better to be around. live for us and future generations.

Conclusion

Therefore, here is our contribution, taking an initial step towards preserving our space for a cleaner city, a healthy life and a more pleasant environment to live in. This work is not seen as the only way to solve problems environmental issues, but it opens an idea or a door that shows that recycling can be viable and economically possible. We know that there are countless other situations to be proposed, they just need to be started. Because as the saying goes: “A THOUSAND MILE WALK ALWAYS BEGINS WITH THE FIRST STEP”, and this is ours.
