Peru recovers Paolo Guerrero to face Chile

LIMA — Forward Paolo Guerrero recovered from the blow he received to his left eye in the duel that Peru and Argentina tied 2-2 in Lima, which in principle would not prevent him from playing this Tuesday against Chile.

The doctor of the Peruvian Football Federation, Julio Segura, explained to local media that Guerrero, who scored one of Peru’s two goals, has a non-serious bruise on his eyelid.

Segura indicated that other players from Peru finished the match against Albiceleste with blows and fatigue, and he hopes that they will be recovered by training this Saturday.

The Peruvian team trained today in Lima with the players who did not play the entire match, except for Édison Flores, one of the injured. The footballers who played the ninety minutes did exercises in the concentration hotel.

Peru’s only loss to face Chile will be midfielder Yoshimar Yotún, who will have to serve a one-match ban for accumulating yellow cards.

Peru will visit Chile on matchday ten of the South American qualifiers and will try to take revenge for the 3-4 loss suffered in Lima in the first round.
