The Wall of China, also called the Great Wall, corresponds to an intriguing architectural construction built at the time of Imperial China for military purposes.
The construction of the Wall was carried out over two millennia, encompassed many dynasties, it is not made up of only one structure, but is composed of several walls. At the beginning of its construction the use was fundamentally military, today it represents one of the main symbols of China and is consecrated as an important tourist spot.
The construction of the Wall began in the year 220 BC and its completion took place only in the 16th century, in the Ming dynasty. According to historians, to design such a monument it was necessary to use the labor of millions of people.

The European colonizers who arrived on the Asian continent, more precisely in China, remained perplexed when contemplating the high degree of technological development inserted in the civilizations of India and China, as it was a remote time.
Despite this, the Chinese already mastered various subjects such as mathematics, astronomy, arts, cartography and had full mastery of engineering techniques for the construction of buildings such as the wall.
One of the main, if not the most important, examples of application of engineering knowledge is the Wall, an immense architectural construction that is approximately 8,851.8 kilometers long, 7.5 meters high and 3.75 meters wide, is considered as one of the most fantastic works built by man, today it is recognized as one of the seven wonders of the world.
The military objective of the Wall of China was to prevent the entry of nomadic tribes from Mongolia and Manchuria, this construction intended to defend the north of the country against such invaders.
