From the basic definition of power, the equation that determines this magnitude can be developed as a function of the fluid density (d), flow rate (z), gravity (g) and height of the liquid column (h). This equation corresponds exactly to the theoretical hydroelectric power (PT).
The installed power (PI) for one of the plant’s generating units will be the division of the total installed power by the number of generating units.
Finally, the unused power (P) can be determined from the difference between the total power (PT) and the installed power (PI).
